The Malta International Food Festival 2014

Belt Hompesch, Haz-Zabbar will be organising the 2^nd Edition of the Malta on Saturday the 31^st of May in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority, the Zabbar Local Council and the festa band clubs and societies.

More than 30 families from the Maltese Islands go for treatment in 40 different hospitals in UK.   The most two hospitals used by the majority of patients are the Great Ormond Hospital which caters mainly for children and the Royal Marsden Hospital which specialises in treatment for cancer.  

These patients spend weeks, months and even years abroad having treatment. 

Puttinu Cares has a dream – That there comes a day when no patient will have to pay anything for accommodation when they need to go abroad for treatment.  We are still half way to make this dream come true since at present, Puttinu Cares  owns 16 apartments near the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton (attached find some photos) which hundreds of families made use of them free of charge.  In all these apartments amount to 4.4 million euros out of which 1.4 million still needs to be repaid back.

Air Malta leases aircraft to Monarch Airlines

Air Malta has signed an agreement to lease out an Airbus A320 aircraft to Monarch Airlines for a period of 19 months.

The contract with the privately-owned British airline commenced at the end of April 2014 and will end in the beginning of November 2015.

Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer Philip Saunders was very positive about working with another EU-based airline.

Local Council Activity - Munxar (Gozo) local council will organise a cultural event, May 2014

Munxar Local Council will organise a cultural event from the between Monday 19th and Saturday 24th May 2014 called ‘EKU Mill-Munxar.. Dari u llum.’

The entire week of continuous activity, will open in Xlendi and everyday will feature a different activity, Monday is sports fest, Tuesday will feature a local talent show whilst other activities mostly aimed at Families and teenagers such as culinary experiences will feature during the rest of the week

Air Malta gears up for summer with a 25 per cent discount

Traveling this summer just became even better value thanks to an Air Malta seat sale offering a discount of 25% on selected routes starting today.

Tickets must be bought between May 11 and 25 and the discount applies to travel between July and September 2014.

The offer is valid to flights operating on these destinations: London (Heathrow and Gatwick), Manchester, Amsterdam, Brussels, Rome and its newest routes, Venice and Parma.

“Summer is our peak season but after such a positive start to the year, we wanted to give something back and reward the early birds,” said Air Malta’s Chief Commercial Officer Philip Saunders.

Contrary to popular belief the winner of this year’s eurovision song contest (Conchita) did not undertake an operation to become a ‘woman’.  He is still anatomically and legally a ‘male’.

Thomas "Tom" Neuwirth (born 6 November 1988), better known as the dragpersona Conchita Wurst (meaning sausage in German), is an Austrian singer. Wurst represented Austria and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The singer uses female pronouns for self description when in the role of Wurst

Air Malta launches the summer 2014 schedule

Air Malta unveiled its summer 2014 flight schedule offering customers a selection of 165 weekly flights to 33 destinations around Europe, northern Africa and the eastern Mediterranean.


This summer the national airline added two new routes to its network; Venice (Marco Polo Airport) and Parma (Giuseppe Verdi Airport). This season it will again operate to Algiers and has changed airport in Istanbul to Sabiha Gokcen Airport, the world’s fastest growing airport.

“Air Malta’s strategy is to operate a conveniently timed flight schedule to a number of central airports which are conveniently located to access the cities they serve. We have a wide network of routes to hub airports which also allow for good connections with our partner airlines beyond our network. We pride ourselves of offering competitive all-inclusive prices while offering a full service treatment on board,” said Chief Commercial Officer Philip Saunders.

Ta’ Mena Estate is owned by the Spiteri family and was founded by their late mother Carmela, popularly known as Mena, who worked hard to purchase and cultivate the land until her pre-mature death in 1986, when the project was partially shelved.

In 2002 the Spiteri Family decided to start again to regenerate and enlarge this estate which now covers around 25 hectares of agricultural land with over 95,000 vines, 1500 olive trees, 800 orange, lemon and mandarin trees and 600 fruit trees. There is also an area where vegetables, tomatoes, strawberries, melons and water melons are cultivated.

When buying a property in Malta and Gozo, the first step is to draw up a contract for a promise of sale, sometimes called a convenium. The convenium will be signed in the presence of a notary, often of the prospective buyer’s choosing. A convenium is basically a preliminary agreement and is normally valid for three months. When the convenium document is signed a deposit is paid by the buyer, normally equivalent to 10% of the overall purchase price of the property.

Rain all over Malta expected this weekend came out of nowhere! Do you think that the US Airforce is messing with our weather?

Yesterday reports came in from various people reporting strange lines in the sky, especially in the south of Malta.  Today the weather in Malta is gloomy and rainy and it seems that no weather forecast predicted such weather especially after Malta and Gozo experienced weeks of sunny and clear skies.

"This strange weather came out of nowhere!" commented someone on our facebook page, "could it be connected to yesterday's strange marks and lines in the sky" said someone else.

Various questions arise,

Is it true that a foreign military force, possibly the US Airforce might be sending drones over Malta to release chemicals in the sky to force clouds to form, rain to come down and eventually to cool off the planet after years of increasing temperatures?

Why are these strange aircraft appearing over Malta? If this is true are they targeting the entire Mediterranean or perhaps Northern Africa or just Malta?
